J Flow Controls Announces U.L. Approved LPG Service Ball Valve Product Line
Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. has listed the following J Flow Controls ball valves for LPG shut-off service. The valves are listed for installation in pipe lines and other applications handling: Inert Gases, Fuel Gases, Hydrogen/Nitrogen Air, LPG Natural Manufactured Gases and Corrosion Fuel Oils. The normal working pressure does not exceed 275 psig/1485 psi. The listing is under Underwriters Laboratories Guide YSDT.
Valve Types
- DM4600 Series Sizes1/4” through 3” threaded Body Material: SS 316, Carbon Steel Trim Material: SS 316, Carbon Steel Seats, Seals & Adapter Gaskets: PTFE only
- 2500 Series Sizes 1/2” through 6” flanged Body Material: SS 316, Carbon Steel Trim Material: SS 316, Carbon Steel Seats, Seals & Adapter Gaskets: PTFE only
- DM2500 Series Sizes1/2” through 6” ANSI Class 150/300 Flanged End Body Material: SS 316, Carbon Steel Trim Material: SS 316, Carbon Steel Seats & Seals: PTFE only Bonnet Gaskets: PTFE only
The material of construction is not restricted to making valves of only one basic type of material. For example, carbon steel bodied valves may be furnished with stainless steel trim if needed. However, only PTFE seats and seals may be furnished.
Test Procedures
After assembly, each valve is tested for leakage past seats and seals with 275 psig nitrogen pressure or 375 psig hydrostatic pressure.
Marking
After test, each valve is tagged on the body with the U.L. symbol.
Ordering
Valves may be ordered by the J Flow sales code figure number with the additional designation UL YSDT for use in LPG service. Valves are to be tested and marked per PS2-2-4.
